Eco-Friendly Holiday cards? Plant a tree with every order @paperculture #sponsored #designfortrees

It is that time of year when families across the country try to figure out their holiday photo cards! This year I was on the early side of picking out the photos and thanks to Paper Culture my holiday photo cards are printed and have arrived. If you are going to create holiday photo cards why not choose an eco-friendly company to do it. Paper Culture’s mission is not only to deliver modern eco stationery to celebrate life events but to plant a tree with every order! You can even say who you would like to plant it in honor of.

Paper Culture offers personalized invitations, stationery, holiday cards, and wall art on eco-friendly materials. Paper Culture is an eco, sustainable business meaning all their cards will not cut down any new trees. The cards use exclusively 100% post-consumer recycled paper or alternative non-tree fibers. They even have an eco-friendly reversible box. The reversible box is made from recycled cardboard and printed with eco-friendly water-based inks and the best thing is that you can reuse it!

There are a ton of styles of holiday cards to choose from too. They have free designer assistance, they will mail the cards for you and free return and recipient address printing as well. Their customer service is excellent – any problems – just  call them – so many companies don’t even have a customer service number! I was very pleased with my order and would highly recommend them for holiday cards.

Disclosure: Paper Culture offered me a $50 discount. As always all opinions in this blog post are my own.

Beautiful holiday photo cards from @paperculture! Don't want to spoil the photo part -but the front side came out awesome.

@harborsweetslaunchesGather chocolate

Gather, The newest purpose-driven chocolate by Salem based Harbor Sweet launches today!

This small batch chocolate line will support a cause critical to the environment: protecting honeybees. The chocolate comes in a beautiful package presented with six distinct taste experiences unified by dark chocolate and a subtle note of local wildflower honey.

The taste and combination of the chocolate and the honey is unlike any other chocolate I have tasted (and I eat a lot of cholate!) What is also nice about this chocolate is a portion of sales will be donated to the Pollinator Partnership which is a 501c3 NGO that educates and advocates best beekeeping practices for honeybee protection.

The honeycomb shaped box showcases six individually shaped honey-infused chocolates including three truffles: caramelized honey, pomegranate molasses and sour cherry and three dark chocolate: cashew caramel, coconut cluster and sesame crunch. They almost look too pretty to eat!  But of course once you have one you will eat the whole box.  The six piece box is $12.50 and the 12-piece box is 18.50. Perfect for holiday gift giving or a hostess gift –Instead of brining wine to a social gathering bring a box of Gather and you will be the hit of the party! Harbor Sweets has been producing handcrafted artisan chocolates from its historic red brick building in Salem and is sold online here and at fine gourmet grocers and gift shops.

Positive energy skin care? A review @skinagain

Lots of beauty products come across our desk to review at trendymommies. We try to look for all natural, paraben free products and ones that help solve a problem. The folks at SkinAgain sent us a few products to test out. Called positive energy skincare SkinAgain suggests to enhance your beauty with positive affirmations. Hey it can’t hurt right?

Each SkinAgain product is Vegan, Gluten-Free, Paraben & Sulphate-Free and Cruelty-Free. The company says they rely on the latest in research-supported skin care technology. I tested out the Vanish and Youth creams.

Vanish is a lotion that is used to fade the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and scars. It is made with a blend of shea butter, avocado seed extract, and bentonite. The cost is $52. I liked how soothing it is. Time will tell about fading the appearance but I liked the smell and the soothing properties. For this one I will have to circle back to tell you how my skin is after a month.

The youth anti-wrikle brightening cream is like a “facelift” primer and can be used under makeup. It is made with Rumex Occidentalis Extract, Tree Fern Extract, and Peptides. It is used to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, darks spots, and loss of elasticity. This definitely felt nice going on. The cost is $64. I have only been using it a week and can see a difference. I do love how they are vegan and gluten free as well. Check them out online.

They suggest to meditate on a positive affirmation during application of each cream to say something such as My skin is flawless! I like saying my skin is wrinkle free….and it will be with youth!

Not all sheets are created equal: A review: @PeachSkinSheets #BestSheetsEver

Getting a good night’s sleep and being comfortable at night is a must for busy moms and dads! Especially as we get older sometimes becoming overheated at night is a big problem! (hello hot flashes!) I didn’t really think sheets would make a difference but boy was I wrong. The Original PeachSkinSheets company sent me a set to test out and review. These super soft comfort sheets are great for hot sleepers but also work to regulate you as warm sleepers stay cool, and cool sleepers stay warm. They are breathable, ultra soft, anti-pill sheets that feature thermal control and moisture management properties. The durable athletic grade performance SMART fabric wicks away moisture to keep you drier and more comfortable.

At first my husband was like, “big deal what is the difference?” You can immediately feel the difference and softness and that first night we slept on the sheets neither of us woke up in the middle of the night! In fact I did notice that my waking up at 4,5 in the morning has subsided a bit when I put the sheets on. Now we don’t want to go back to our other store bought sheets.

These 1500 thread count soft sheets are available in multiple sizes so check out their web site and fabric guide here

They are also super easy to care for as the sheets have wrinkle release that is activated in the dryer on medium to medium/high heat about 20 minutes after washing.
Make sure to wash them by themselves or with other sheets, no towels, in warm or cold water and with no fabric softener ball or dryer ball. Prices start at $55.

Visit their Facebook page and follow them on twitter too for more information and special deals!

Fa, La, La, La, La….to @CVS_Extra #Sponsored #CVSMeetUps

It’s down to the wire….Christmas is almost here so hopefully you don’t have a lot of running around left to do. One of my favorite retailers – CVS -is my go to stop when I need any extras to get ready this holiday season. Actually it’s my stop when I need ANYTHING. I have done food shopping at my local CVS – to pick up a few things  – and you may have noticed at your local CVS all the different choices in store. What great fun it was today to take a field trip to CVS to hear from representatives  about what is new in store.

For the #CVSMeetUps a group of bloggers got together to see the better bites, better selection and an even better grab and go part of one of their bigger stores. We walked some of the isles to see new products. I love the radiance platinum line of supplements  now. There was a sample in the gift bag they gave us and I tried it right away.  This line is certified organic and non-gmo as well. The allergy solution isle now has clearly marked signs to help you pick the best option for allergy season and in the beauty isle they have multiple organic lines to choose from including their own Organic Promise, my fav line Say Yes, Alba, Jason and more! Also new is the addition of premier brands for beauty including Jouviance and Wilma Schumann.

Back to your last minute holiday shopping…..What I love about CVS is that it is a great one-stop-shop. CVS provided me with a gift card to pick up some stocking stuffers and some items for the holiday season. They have the best selection of holiday decor (lights are on sale this week!), the best travel item section (great for stocking stuffers), your every day items like detergent, tissues and I needed a frame and batteries for holiday gifts and they have those items as well. I have frequented there many times for milk and bread and of course for birthday party needs like cards, gift bags and balloons. Their candy selection is extensive as well. Plus you can shop online too if you cannot get out to a local store. So think CVS for all your holiday shopping needs this season!

Disclosure: CVS sent me a gift card, presented us with a gift bag with goodies and treated us to lunch today. As always all opinions in this blog post are my own.

Holiday Beauty: Starting holiday shopping a bit early @QVC

I like to start my shopping a bit early…and at home…in my pjs! And dads out there (and anyone else who is trying to avoid the malls this season) QVC has the items for you! The folks at QVC have the best selection of gift ideas this holiday season and they sent me a few gift sets to test out. If your wife, mom, tween, niece or sister loves to receive a beauty kit or make-up kit as a gift (and who doesn’t?) QVC has the most coveted selection of make-up, beauty, perfume sets and more. In fact they have my two favorite brands – Tarte and Josie Maran. Both make-up and skin care lines are on the natural side and have no yucky chemicals in them. I feel good about giving my teen and tween girls lip sticks and moisturizers from each of these lines. They love the argan oil especially and this I would say is a must have for dry, itchy, winter skin.

The Decadent Bliss Radiant Beauty Argan Head to Toe Luxury Set from Josie Maran has the 100% Pure argan Oil, a creamy oil in a tube and the whipped argan oil as well, all to to moisturize face, treat split ends, or condition cuticles – Multiple uses all in one kit.

The Josie Maran Argan 3-in-1 Core Color Hydrating Lipstick Duo is perfect for stocking stuffers and is $30. This is a 3-in-1 lipstick formula with the moisture of a balm, the pigment of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss – love the formulation as it goes on easy and with nice light color. It comes with two so you can have one in your make-up kit and one in the car. The colors are really nice and very moisturizing.

My other favorite from QVC is tarte. The tarte LipSurgence 5 piece set is perfect for teens. I like the LipSurgence as it’s not too sticky and the colors in this kit are wonderful. QVC also has tarte eyeliner and eyeshadow kits so check them out here

What is best about QVC is you can shop online too. Happy early shopping!

Disclosure: QVC sent me several holiday kits to test out. All opinions in this blog post are my own.

Making your way to @BJsWholesale with kids! #backtoschool shopping #Sponsored

I have not been to BJ’s wholesale club in a while and I was certainly missing out!  They have a great optical section, coupon books with extra savings, a few samples of food for the kids to try and of course items in bulk that any family can use for back to school season.  Just last week I was at BJ’s Wholesale Club to film a segment with @NECN for what products to buy or not to buy this time of year (more to come on that in the next post) and took along my older daughter. She was very happy to shop for back to school snacks but put in so many items in our cart that we went a bit overboard. You have to be strategic about this back to school snack shopping!  Here are a few tips  if you plan to bring your kids along with you (yes, they can help)

1. It can be very fun to shop here but it can be overwhelming so have a plan on which items you want to buy and stick with it. Because if you don’t one turn down the candy isle and the kids will go crazy. FYI…This is THE place to get your Halloween candy.

2. So if your plan is to get some back to school snacks be picky in each category. For example we chose one case of chips, one case of juice boxes, one granola bar box – as tempting as it was for my daughter to choose 7 snack options – you have to set a limit!

3.  Know what your kids like  – My daughter picked out a new brand of granola bars (and she is very picky) so  I thought oh great – what if she does not like them, then I have 500 left over!  It is best to stick with favorites here! Fyi….the bars were Cascadian Farms organic chewy granola bars and I love them!

New fragrances from @TheYankeeCandle

The crisp scent of apples, leaves, fall….oh wait it’s summer!  But still I always like to be in the know when it comes to new products so I am glad that I was able to sample some of the new fall fragrances from @TheYankeeCandle.  Yankee Candle always has great fragrances for any season and great accessories for your home. Some of the new fragrances for fall include Autumn in the Park, Sugar & Spice and Vanilla Bourbon.

Autumn in the Park is a combination of my favorite fragrances – apple and pumpkin. It combines the fragrance of apple and leaves with a hint of pumpkin so crisp!

Sugar & Spice is a new favorite.  What could be better than the scents of sugar, vanilla and cinnamon? Nothing for sure. This candle smells so good, in fact I started it in the summer – could not wait for the fall!

Vanilla Bourbon is spicy!  With cream scents it could be your new favorite.  Check out the new line at yankeecandle.com

Disclosure: The company send me the above candles to test out. All opinions are my own.
