Home office makeover #workfromhome #homeofficedecor

Finally, my home office makeover is complete!  Well, I am still looking for the perfect desk but the walls have been painted, shelves cleaned and organized and I feel refreshed and ready to work even harder this year! It is amazing what a bit of paint and clearing the clutter can do! I have worked from home for over 14 years so I had a lot of files and notebooks that stacked up. I did have some help with the organizing thanks to my friend Gretchen from The Fancy Kind. The Fancy Kind is a staging and interior decorating service outside of Boston. Gretchen is great at taking what you have in your home or office and organizing it in a way that is clutter free. My friend Julie helped with the paint selection and she has a great company called design 2 order and can consult on paint colors, interior design and help with organizational challenges and more.

Here are some photos of the home office space before and after:

Home office makeover #workathome

The new year has got me fired up! I decided to make a change and clean out my home office. I have 15 plus years of files and stuff and I went through a lot and tossed a lot. It felt very freeing. However I could not stand to have my items in boxes so the painters are coming in this week and hopefully at the end of the week I will have a new, fully decorated office. Here are some of the before photos as well as some of the cool items I purchased to spruce up the space and make it a bit more modern. I never knew I could spend so much time on Pinterest!

Home office decor – I love gold accessories and this is a new color choice for me!

My office is looking better! I cleaned out all the shelves, donated some books but I still have many books to sort through. I am hoping for a more minimalistic look

Your middle schooler’s fashionable locker @lockerlookz

Fashion Locker? Yes, kids do decorate their lockers!  If you have a tween girl you know that fashion can be important when it comes to middle school. Why not have them design their locker with fun accessories and décor? They can decorate their space with a bit of help from the experts at  LockerLookz.

It is a creative and fun way for tweens to personalize their space at school and LockerLookz offers so many different accessories to choose from.  LockerLookz offers wallpaper, rugs, bins, frames, white boards and what a way to light up a locker  – a beaded chandelier! You can buy each item individually or in kits.  I also (*I mean my tween) loves the different color selections. The company also offers a new product line including fur pillows, a storage caddy, tape dispensers and a fun candy dispenser!  All these items are perfect for the tween girls bedroom at home as well. Check out the items online.

Check out my 6th grader’s locker  – almost complete thanks to LockerLookz.

Disclosure: The company sent me some LockerLookz items to test out and review. All opinions in this blog post are my own.

It’s a decorating thing #teens @wayfair

It is that time of year when my tween and teen decide it is time to switch up their rooms and move everything around once again! Every once in a while they also decide to NOT share their big bedroom (with the bathroom and walk in closet) and one of them decides to move to the small room. Wayfair to the rescue! They have the perfect solutions for small spaces and any space really.  Plus my kids love looking on the site for decorating ideas. I do like how the site has inspiration boards as well. I love a good white dresser and nightstand. Plus for the kids a nice vanity is something they will love. Check out the one in my daughter’s room from Wayfair. We did not add the mirror on top as we did not want to block the light coming in the window. It is small and fits perfectly in the nook.  The site has a great selection of unique finds and a ton of cute vanity/make-up stands and sets here.  If you are on the hunt for some good deals check out Wayfair.com!

Disclosure: Wayfair sent me the vanity. All opinions in this post are my own.

Spring is here! Spring Storage @Wayfair #Spring

Today is the first day of Spring! But in New England it is still cold. But that did not stop me from starting to think about spring cleaning and spring storage. Every year at this time I start to think about changing over the kids bedroom  – lighter sheets and comforters, etc. (ok, maybe we will wait a week or two to change over the flannels). Bringing out some fun spring decor and adding in functional storage solutions can change the whole look of the room.   Do you ever notice how sometimes the children’s bedrooms can easily become messy?   I like storage options that are small, fit in with the decor and provide a nice balance. I always like the options at Wayfair which has great storage items for the home (and everything else you could possibly need for your home). Strategically placed at the end of a bed like in the photo below, this storage bench from Wayfair is a nice solution to keep clutter at bay. It comes with the bins so all the little items your kids gather has a place. Another option that looks great is the tufted storage ottoman (and it also provides a seating area).  Check out Wayfair.com for more home decor options and a great resource for spring storage and spring home makeover ideas! wayfair1
