Sun Safety and @ProtectaBub

As I have said before there are so many unique and helpful products on the market now versus when my 7 and 10 year olds were babies.  I remember having about 4 different strollers and now it seems you buy one stroller that does it all. I also remember the sun in my babies eyes ALL THE TIME and worrying about sun protection especially when they were newborns. Now that the warm weather is here and we are slathering on the sunscreen, for all the moms with little bitty babies out there (or toddlers too) you may want to get this product to protect your little one.  It is the Protect-a-Bub’s classic sunshade. This universal protective stroller canopy has an SPF 50 built into it.  It also fits car seats with a canopy as well so you can enjoy your adventures without worry! The company also makes a rain cover.  A pretty nice idea especially since a little nap time is key during stroller time. This product was endorsed by Melanoma International Foundation!

No time to cook? @Foodler to the rescue – Foodler Review!

Hubby is traveling this week + I don’t cook = Foodler to the rescue!  Foodler is a new food online delivery site (hmm..I could get use to this!).  This growing network of online restaurants in major cities has a wide selection of menu options to choose from.   It’s fast, easy and you can schedule a time and day for your delivery. So if you know you won’t have time to cook on say, Tuesday night – go online and Foodler presents you with a list of all restaurants that offer delivery and take-out meals to your area.  The options range from Chinese, Italian, Pizza and more.  So last night I went online and saw that our local pizza place delivered and ordered a salad a pizza and scheduled a time and sure enough it arrived just in time for my hungry kids! You can browse the complete menus of those restaurants in your area, click on your selections, and send your order directly to the restaurant and even schedule a time later on to have them delivered on a certain day. This is a perfect service for moms with a new little one, friends who are in need of a meal or if you are like me and worry about what’s for dinner -  it’s a great solution. Simple, fast, tasty and easy – why aren’t all my meals like this??  I hope they add more restaurants to my area soon!

April Vacation, B-Day and Fashion Show

What a week! Last week was April vacation for the kids and I am glad we stuck around Boston. We had three separate day trips to the beach all in New England in April and it felt like summer. It was also my birthday and I celebrated by participating in a fashion show at Copley Place sponsored by Smiling Stilletto to benefit Project Smile. My friend and I participated and it was glamorous getting our hair and make-up done and then strutting down the catwalk! This was the best April school vacation ever as I am sure my kids will agree too.  Believe it or not I did squeeze some work in as well!

Love the outdoors? Celebrate this weekend with L.L. Bean in Boston!

It should be a nice weekend for outdoor activities so get excited about the great outdoors and get active!  In celebration of its 100th Anniversary, L.L.Bean has begun a year-long mission to re-ignite America’s love of the outdoors.  Join the company for Discovery Day this Saturday, April 14th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Boston Common ( Corner of Boylston & Tremont Streets)

Expert guides from L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Schools® will lead various family-friendly outdoor activities on the Common.  All activities are FREE. You and your kids can try fly-casting, knot-tying and several backyard-style games.  They will have a mock campsite and you can finally figure out how to set up that tent!   Plus you may spot the L.L. Bean Bootmobile!

Mayor Menino will also be on hand at 9 a.m. to announce Boston’s Summer Kayak Series. This is a free program which will provide local children and families with the opportunity to try kayaking.  The program will kick off on June 16 in Millennium Park in West Roxbury and will continue with events on June 23, July 14 and July 21. Kids can learn basic skills and safety, followed by a trip out onto the Charles River on a kayak! The kayaking sessions will be open to Boston residents ages eight years and older. How fun!
